Skipping
I have replaced the chain, freewheel, rear derailer, and crank. Now the chain skips when pushing big gears under pressure. I've been doing sprints starting in the biggest gear at 10 mph and hitting 30, it's very bad when I do this. I don't understand why it would do this with all new parts. I had this same problem with a different bike some years back after I streched a chain badly and had to replace everything.

The barrel adjuster at the back of the derailleur may help fix this. Try 1/4 turn clockwise, if a little better another 1/4 turn clockwise, if no better or worse 1/2 turn counter clockwise. You get the idea.

Like Moonshot said try turning the adjusting barrel clockwise first to see if that helps. My problems with skipping has always been due to too much tension on the cable. You've already tried everything else so hopefully it will work.

No, it's new, or it was new. Maybe a couple thousand miles by now. But it started right after the whole drive train was replaced. I'm going to loosen the cable tonight before I ride and see if that works.

Hey, xyz, check out this site
https://www.parktool.com/repair_help/FAQindex.shtml
You need to first identify if it's too much cable tension that is causing this problem or NOT ENOUGH! Usually it's not enough. This is a direct result of new cables and housing or old unadjusted ones.
Also, make sure you check your hanger alignment. If the derailleur hanger is bent, you will need to get it replaced (aluminum frame) or straightend (steel frame).

Yep, **** rules! Not sure where you live but if you have a close by local bike shop, ask them if they have any bike repair classes. I actually teach the Park Tool School at my shop and it is pretty cool.

I've seen a similar experience after changing all of the drivetrain components.
The cause was the brand new link pin used to install the new chaing. That individual chain link was stiff and when it would reach the gears and cogs, it would skip and sometimes shift upwards or downwards. Check to make sure each individual link is free and loose.
