Probably a stupid question.

I have a parks bike stand for working on my bike. I ride a Merlin Lunaris Carbon fiber tubes with Titanium at the ends. I have been clamping the bike on the top tube and wondered if there have been any reports of tube damage from the clamps. Suggestions?

Clamp on the seatpost, only - (or better yet, nothing with a stand like the PRS-21).

Think about it, which one is more expensive to replace? You only need to **** up ONCE.

What if the seatpost is also carbon fiber?

It's still cheaper CF than the frame's top tube. You can always replace the CF seat tube with an aluminum one just for the stand.

Brad

PS Seat post, not seat tube. Sorry!

Seatposts are clamped by the seat clamp, so they are certainly load bearing.. Top tubes break easy via stand clamping.
