Correct BB for Ultegra SL 6600 cranks going into Defy Advanced frame?
Hi Everyone:
I just got a Defy Advanced 4 and I am considering bringing over my Ultegra SL group set to this frame. It currently has an FSA BB and I believe this is a BB86 set up. The Shimano site says the BB86 is for the Hollowtech II cranks and I do not believe the Ultegra SL 6600 is only Hollowtech. The Defy Advanced 2 appears to have a Dura Ace BB with the 5700 105 cranks. I have heard conflicting information that the FSA BB might work, but that it might not. Before I have both bikes in pieces does anyone know the correct press in BB that would work with my Ultegra SL cranks? It is working great on the current bike, but it would be nice on the new frame set too. Thanks in advance for the help. |
nobody can answer this one?

Ultegra SL is HollowTech II.
According to Giant, the Defy has a BB86 shell. Search for "Shimano Press-Fit BB86 HT2 Adapter Cups." |
Thanks desertdork! I would have bought the wrong one, but now I see this is the correct BB.

so have you bought new one?

ordered it and I am waiting for it. I will be doing the swap out in January so I still have some time. I will post any update as soon as it is completed.
