I replaced knobbies on my wife's MTB with CST city tires. We ride 99% asphalt, 3 times a week recreationally and they are great, no flats. They are good for the price. If I was a serious or expert rider / racer, maybe I would get more expensive better tires.

I've had a couple of cst tires, as well as mich. dynamics, Forte stradas, Vittoria Zaffiro, etc. Pretty much all the $10-15 tires.

For a rider, Panaracer Stradius Sport folding bead are my favorites. Can be found for $15 once in a blue moon, even $10 once. Usually $20 but we'll worth it on a price per mile basis.

I have CST Traveler 700x37 on my hybrid. 12000 km in 2 yrs, 5 or 6 flats, still a lot of tread left. They are OK for me.
