Diameter and pitch of canti post?

I don't have one here to measure, can anyone tell me? I'm looking for the outside specs.

If you're removing the post and wish to plug the frame:

I did some more reading, so I see that more info is warranted.

I want to put a small rack on my front. I use disc brakes. Fork is Surly 1x1.

I never measured the posts themselves, but I'm fairly sure they're 8mm OD. The thread is 6x1, and that's probably what you'll use for mounting, bolting to the face rather than OD of the post. Some posts are removable, being threaded into the boss at the base. If you have this type, you'd get the best mounting by removing the post and mounting directly to the base.

Yes, my posts thread into fork bosses. I am looking for the specs on the posts as they thread into the boss.

I am thinking they are m10 and either 1 or 12.5 pitch.

I'm not 100% sure that they're all the same, but here's a link to one source showing it as 10x1.5. I hope that helps.

I recall seeing 3 different threads. These are 8 x 1.25mm: http://harriscyclery.net/product/cantilever-stud-thread-in-8x1.25mm-14mm-threads-24mm-insertion-length-sku-fs1174-qc49.htm .
I bet they're for suspension forks, though.

The canti boss on a Surly 1x1 fork is M10 x 1.00.

Went to a few stores, bought one of each (1.00 and 1.25). Could have used the pitch gauge but 1) it is cold out there and 2) I had to go out anyway.

Thanks for the help!
