Fizik Saddle
Just got my new Aliante today and it looks very nice....as I was marvelling over it I noticed that on the right rail there is a "0" position in front and these progression bars going aft in increments of 10, 20, 30.........any idea what this is? How do I use them?

They are just for guidance when you set your saddles position fore-and-aft. Set the saddle where you think you want it and then note the number at one end of the seatpost clamp. If you want to move the saddle you can use these numbers to indicate how far you have moved it or to come back to the original setting.

if you write down things you can keep track of your saddle position relative to the last adjustment.
If you are a team mechanic and need to set up a replacement bike for your team member
overnight and have the setup the same as the last one,
so the rider won't notice the difference, for the next days race,
then that calibration is really useful.

They are 10mm intervals to be used as points of reference. Set your seat position by your preferred method, note a number's location in relation to a point on the seat bracket, experiment with fore and aft seat movement, and document (or commit to memory) the seat rail's new location and your feelings about it. Experiment with seat height and note if there is a linear or correlating distance relationship with forward & rearward seat positioning. I can think of other ways to make use of them also.
Sorry for the redundancy, others are quicker with keystrokes than I.

Thanks
Those make perfect sense.......and a great idea. I have never seen them before. I can't wait to mount this saddle and take it for a spin. This Nashbar Selle knock off is like riding a 2x4 on it's side.
