Seat post on the cheap
Hi
I have an old bike with a 25.8mm seat post in currently. I need a new seat post to fit my new saddle.
I think that this seatpost (https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=53829) looks really cool and is a good price
, but its 25.4mm. As far as I can see, I would have to then get a seat post shim. I can't find one from 25.4-25.8, but there is a 25.0-25.4 (https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=43709 but currently out of stock) which is the same 0.4mm increase. Could I get that one and bend it a bit to do 25.4-25.8?
Thanks
Clive

I could not find a shim to make my 26.8 post fit in a 27.2 frame, so I bought some .2mm shim stock and made my own. Good luck finding one for yours, but you could do what I did.

Don't know where you live, but there are a variety of good/decent 25.8 seatposts on ebay for $15 or less.
