campy 06 chainset removal

I'm about to remove my campagnolo 06 veloce chainset, I thought it would be self extracting but seemingly not, I own a park crank puller, but is this ok? or is the a special campagnolo crank puller i'll need? thanks, I'm sure this 'll be fine but just thought i'd ask.

You will be fine with the Park crank puller. My suggestion is to lightly grease the threads of the puller and use a wrench to ensure it is fully threaded into the crankarm. Not doing so could rinsk ripping the threads out of the crank.

Also...make sure that you remove any washer present behind the bolt as failure to do so will surely cause you to rip the threads out of the crank.

Hey one last thing to check...you are talking about the blue handled Park crank puller right?

They make a blue handled one and a black handled one...the black one is for splined cranks/bb. The blue is for square taper cranks/bb.

I think they still have a universal non-handled one as well that has 2 inserts your can interchange depending on what type of crank/bb you have.

Just make sure you are using the one for square taper bottom brackets as using the one for splined cranks may cause the same problem as not removing a washer.
