New Road Frame w/ BB30 Adaptor?

I purchased a new Focus Cayo last month and I was a little surprised that I saw what appear to be external bottom bracket bearings with the Shimano FC-R600 crankset (the frame is BB30)

I later read post on BF that only a few companies have "true" BB30 cranks (FSA, SRAM, Cannondale) which would have internal bearings and look like this:

Any body else finding that their BB30 frames are coming with non-BB30 cranks? (I noticed it on a cyclingnews.com tech article as well).

Also, does this mean that if I upgrade to a BB30 crank that I'll have to replace the bottom bracket (buy the BB30 kit)?

I ride a Cannondale at present i have a FSA crank(BB30) and yes shimano does not have a BB30 only Sram,FSA, and Cannondale. Good thing is that the frame is BB30 so if in the future or if you decide to upgrade your crank you have that option. Most BB30 cranks come with the proper BB the crank will cost a few extra dollars (usaully $20-$30) more. My wifes cannondale is a BB30 frame but she has a shimano crank so she has the external bearing cups as well.
