Campagnolo shifters problem

I installed new Centuar shifters and cable routing. The FD shifter isn't pulling the cable. RD shifter works fine.
What could be the problem?

You may have screwed up the installation of the front cable.

Try this:
1. Remove the cable.
2. Manipulate gear levers while observing ratcheting mechanism from underside...you may need to remove lever from bars first.

3. Double check that the shifter is in the lowest ring position by pushing the thumb lever.
4. Pull back the brake hood and verify where the cable needs to route.
5. Install cable into ergo lever.
6. while pulling on end of cable check function of ergo lever.
7. If lever does not function...double check steps 2-4 to ensure cable is installed properly. If lever does function properly go on to step 7.
8. Attach cable to front derailleur.

If the ratchet mechanism in step 2 does not function you may need to overhaul the lever. If the ratchet mech works and you still cant get it things to function properly then you should take it to a bike shop that knows campy stuff.

Doublecheck that the cablehead is seated in it's proper slot. You should test for this before actually routing the cable through the housing. I doubt the shifter is the problem.

Grab the bare inner wire at the downtube and pull it away from the frame as if you were drawing a bow. Odds are you'll pull down a bit or slack. Work the lever angains your hand tension to confirm that it's now working, then reset the wire in the FD pinch bolt.

Make sure you didn't install the cable with the shift lever in high gear. If you did, the shifter will have no more pull, and will only be able to move the cable from slack to really slack.
