Can this tire fit on my wheel ?

Hi,

I have a mountain bikes with Bontrager 6000 MTB 26" wheels.
I want to replace the tires with 26" slick road tires.

On my rim it says: "ETRTO 559x18 ERO 540"

Can I put 26"x1" tires on these rims?

for example:

"Hutchinson Top Slick 2 26 x 1"
see:
https://www.hutchinsontires.com/en/ca....php&univers=1

This tire wont be too narrow for the rim ?

Thanks for your help,
Si.

Don't really know how wide your rims are, but it's usually OK.
Sheldon Brown has some (conservative) recommendations on tire vs rim width.
Personally I've moved away from 1" MTB slicks. The ones I've come across haven't been able to take the same pressures as the corresponding width in road tires, which makes them sensitive to snakebite flats.
Of course me being unable to bunnyhop due to using a pannier contributes to making 1" tires a poor choice for me.

As always, YMMV.
