derailleur hanger glued on?

I'm trying to take the derailleur hanger off my frame, but it won't budge even after I took the screws out. It appears to be glued to the frame.

Is this common? What's the best way to get it off without damaging the frame? I'm worried it may be epoxied on.

That would be highly unusual.

It's possible the hanger was installed while the paint was still a little wet.

Tap it *gently* with a hammer or even the handle of a screwdriver towards the driveside of the frame. it should pop off.

painter's pallet knives are thinner than screwdrivers.

Is this the rear derailleur hanger or the front?
