Tools for crank and bottom bracket (3 bikes)
Since getting a 3rd bike recently (winter/foul weather bike) I've taken more time to learn and do my own maintenance vs bringing the bike to a shop. I've never removed/installed cranks or bottom brackets but I may want/need to one day, so I was wondering what tools I need. I'm aware that you may need different tools for different components. I have 3 road bikes with the following crank and bottom brackets:
1) Crank - TruVativ Elita (triple); Bottom Bracket - TruVativ GIGA pipe SL, 118mm spindle 2) Crank - Ultegra 6700 (double, compact); Bottom bracket - Ultegra 6700 3) Crank - Suntour 42t; Bottom bracket - Truvativ square taper (singlespeed/fixie bike) |
Look here for the tools you need http://www.parktool.com/category/bottom-bracket
1 - BBT-2 + either a 32mm wrench or 3/8 drive ratchet driver for the bottom bracket, CCP-44, for the crank you will probably need an 8mm Allen key for the dust caps as well 2 - BBT-9 Bottom Bracket Tool + 6mm Allen Key 3 - Bottom Bracket as for your GIGA Pipe, CCP-22 for the crank. http://www.sram.com/_media/techdocs/...wrspl-e-r2.pdf For how too's http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-...ottom-brackets |
