Crankset question

I've got a Pinarello FP2/Ultegra bike. It came with a MOst compact crank-set, which I know is a decent unit. But since everything else in the drive train is Ultegra, I'd like to replace the existing crank-set with the Utlegra compact. Yeah, I know.... :D

Anyway, would this be a simple BB/crank-set swap out or are there any compatibility issues?

Thanx,
Bert

Easy swap as long as you don't have the BB30 BB. If you do, it requires an adapter.

According to the MOst web site, the Lynx C7 MOst crank-set uses a Mega-Exo "integrated" BB. My Park BBT-9 fits the external cup splines perfectly. So I'd guess it's not a BB30 BB (?)

It probably is a standard BB but, if it is a BB30, it already has the adapters so either way you are good to go.

MOst is a new one to me

BB 30 is a internalized external bearing, AFAIK.
external bearings do unscrew, so going over to the whole Shimno Set will get the job done.

Well, I do have a Shimano Ultegra BB with the proper Italian threading for the Pinarello laying around, so I'm set either way. I'm just wondering if I really need to change out the BB as well.

What's surprising is the 880 g claimed weight of the MOst C7 vs 650 g for the Shimano, both including BB. So this is more than a whimsy, which means it'd probably make the most sense to change out both the BB and crank-set

Thanks for all your input
