Ugggh... tire replacement
 

I overinflated my tire last night and decided to replace the tube myself... I don't have a tire iron, but managed to take off the tire non the less. I got the new tube on, but can't get the new tire on... my tires are continental gatorskins, by the way. If anyone could help tell me how to get the tire back in the bead, and get it all on, that would be nice.

The big secret to installing a tire with no tools is to repeatedly re-center the portion of the bead already on the tire down into the deeper part in the middle of the rims channel. While maintaining pressure to keep the beads crossing over the rim in place with a knee and a hand use the other hand to sweep the far half into the center from the extreme opposite point to the crossover. That'll give you the slack you need to move some of it over the rim. Just keep sweeping and inching the bead and it'll go on with some measure of reasonable force that won't draw blood or result in broken bones.

There is some brand-to-brand and model-to-model variation in how much slack you have to work with. My Continental Traffic tires are MUCH tougher to uninstall and install than the other tires I've dealt with (some WTB, Kenda, and Performance house brand tires). In fact, I first installed them on some Mavic UST rims and had to take them to a local shop to get the tires off. At first, the guy in the shop smirked, but it took him some minutes in the back room to get them off, and he wasn't smirking anymore. :)

If you got it off without tools, it should go on easy with out them. Start at the side away from the valve and work both ways toward the valve. The last part you put on should be at the valve. Should be able to work it on with just your thumbs.
