Ultra Torque Crank Defective Threads

The problem has been solved, just sharing the corrective action process. My girlfriend purchased a standard Campy Ultra Torque System crankset off ebay to replace her compact set. It most likely was a factory second because the internal threads weren't finished correctly. Her attempt at securing a bolt anyway, damaged threads on each bolt she tried, at $30 per bolt, it was an expensive mistake. All the parts literature label the crank fixing bolt a 10mm, it is however a 15mm with 1.0 thread spacing. I could not locate a tap in that size on the web, and after visiting a few machine supply companies it appeared the only option was to have one made for about $60. Eventually I located a specialty cutting tool business with the required tap on the shelf. This really is an oddball tap size, and the bolt diameter with that thread spacing is rare. After completing thread cutting that should have done during manufacture, the crank fastens together correctly.
