Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket compatibility.
I'm replacing my old beat up Shimano 5503 triple with a new Ultegra triple I got for cheap. The crank didn't come with a bottom bracket.
I do have a spare Shimano 5700 Hollowtech II bottom bracket, which came with a 105 compact double crank. Will this bottom bracket work for an Ultegra 6603 triple?

If the 5502 triple was designed around a hollowtech II, then yes... otherwise i doubt it. If it's a hollowtech II bottom bracket, it should work with a hollow tech II crank.

Make sure you got all the spacers required for the triple.

Docs show 43.5 for double and 45mm for triple. It also says to use the 3mm spacer for 6603 crank.

Yeah, ok... so if he swaps in the 6603 into that hollow tech 2 bottom bracket it's fine, but he'll need the spacer on the non-drive side crank(not bottom bracket) which is 2.5mm i think, not 3mm.. but i don't see the part number for that spacer.

Should be item 10. Shimano calls it 3mm, I didn't actually measure it on mine. Also verify #16 is there.
I just installed a 6603 W/5600 BB on a 63mm road frame (didn't measure shell width after facing) and with all the spacers chainline on middle ring is 45mm
