bolt is broken
Hello,
I had to break this bolt that you can see in picture because it was stuck and now im desperate to find a new on. Can anybody please help me? [Moderator note: please see the pics further down this thread.] |
What is the bolt from, it isn't obvious from your pictures? I assume the threading is some standard metric size like M5x0.8 or M6x1.0 and any well equipped hardware store, home center or auto parts store should be able to match the threading and length if not exactly duplicate the head shape.

My bike is in standard equipment. I know that the bolt is aluminium and not in hardware stores and home center or auto parts stores. It look like it's some kind of Scott bolt. I't was allen bolt and i stripped the head and i had to dremel it.
I don't know the name of the part, where is this bolt from, but it holds the wheel in the frame. Sorry, I' m not so good at english. |

Maybe a chainring bolt?
Hard to tell from the murky pictures. |
Also, my malware scanner software lit up like a Christmas tree when clicking the photobucket link. Don't know why, maybe they have questionable ad companies' ads there or something. I'm removing the links, as 10 Wheels posted the pics here already.

I had a picture of it where this bolt is from, but Juha deleted the link. There was also my bicycle: Scott Voltage YZ 0 Limited 2009
I think it is called a drop out bolt. In the other side is the same head but a very long bolt(about 18cm) |

Have you tried your local Scott dealer?
|
Yes, many times, they don' t reply...
|
So long as you match the thread and length, a standard bolt with a washer would work as well. It just wouldn't be as pretty.
|
I didn't find bolt with the same thread because it' s so little.
Is the material important? before was aluminium bolt |
No.
