Torque Specs for New Stem and Handlebar

I got a new Pro stem with new 3T Alu bars. The stem torque spec at the bar attach is 4Nm, and 5Nm at the steerer tube. The bar torque spec is 5Nm. I got that cool Ritchy torque wrench that is set at 5Nm. Will I damage the stem if I crank the bar attach to 5Nm instead of 4?

Thank you,

all i can say is that i have not been impressed with the hardware on 3t stems. the bolts snap a lot.

Gosh I hope not, I just got one in the mail today.

well, it's a PRO stem, not a 3T stem. They are 3T bars. There's no bolts on the bars.

One one hand, it's just 1N*m more but on the other hand, it's a 25% increase. Honestly you could probably get away with it but why risk it? Just go get a proper small torque wrench. It's a one-time purchase that will last you a long time if you follow the care and feeding instructions.
