Vuelta hub question
I have a Vuelta XRP road pro rear wheel with the original vuelta hub (all it says on it is Vuelta 08) that started to make a grinding noise the other day. It's not loud enough to hear while riding most of the time, but I can sometimes hear it while pedaling. I can also hear it while walking with my bike. I removed the cassette and the wheel still makes the noise with it off. I wanted to take it apart and clean, regrease and just check out the inside to make sure everything looks okay, but beyond taking of the cassette I am lost. There are only round surfaces, nothing to fit a wrench or allen key other than on small screw on the side which I removed to discover that it did not loosen anything. I was wondering if anyone had experience with these hubs or even just knew if they can be serviced. I would bring it to my LBS but he cannot get to it until next week and I really want to get in some miles this weekend, but not at the expense of my hub. If anyone has any advise I'd appreciate it.

Sounds like a cartridge bearing hub, rather than a traditional cup-and-cone bearing. If the bearings went bad, they need to be replaced because they cannot simply be re-greased.
