Kestrel Talon Cable Stop Cracked
Hi-
I'm riding a 2009 Kestrel Talon Tri Bike. I was changing gears yesterday and felt a pop. The cable stop for the internal cable controlling the front derailleur snapped. To be clear this is just the plastic (?) piece that fits into the frame to stop the cable at the top end of the bike. As a result I can no longer control the front derailleur from my shifters. The local shop here says they cannot get Kestrel cable stops. Is there anywhere to get these cable stops or any other ideas out there?

Your best bet is to send them an email here. Odds are they'll send you one free, or maybe for a nominal fee.

You've ducked Murphy's Law in that it didn't happen next Saturday. You have a week. If you can impress Kestrel's people on the urgency, thy could mail you one 1st class or Priority Mail on Monday and it'll arrive in plenty of time.
Otherwise, see if you can find a large enough stepped ferrule at the shop (the bell shaped type used on old Weinman levers might do) and get out your file to make it fit.
