bike ride carry on?
i was wondering if i should carry a small bag (gym bag) while biking, would it be beneficial? or would it just kill the areodynamics and slow me down?
if yes, what should i put in the bag?
ps. i have no one following me in a car or giving me supplies when needed.

How far are you going? Get a small bag that mounts under your saddle if you're not going far.
Good things to carry:
- Tube
- Pump
- Tire levers
- Allen wrench set
- Multi tool
- Cash

Something like this. That one is very large, but I just pulled the picture off the internet. They make much smaller ones too.

If you can fix a flat tire you're covered for about 95% of the mechanical problems that are likely to happen to you on a bicycle.
There are 2 quite different philosophies about bicycle saddle bags.
One is to choose the smallest bag that will hold your tire repair stuff. That way you won't be tempted to pack a lot of other useless crap with you.
The other is to get the largest bag that will strap to your bike because you'll be constantly finding cool new tools and rain gear and such that you need to carry with you.
I used to subscribe to the first philosophy, now I've switched over to the second.
