velo orange seat post clamp
I got a new VO Gran Cru Seat Post . It seems to work fine, and I tighten everything down so it is all tight.
But as soon as I sit on it, the top and bottom clamp are not longer lined up. It's almost as if the top clamp slides back.
Do I need to tighten it more before I sit on it? Ride it and just don't worry about it?
It's a B67 Pre-Aged saddle, if that matters. They put some kind of finish on the rails that wears away at the clamping point. I don't know if that's contributing to my problem or not.
I already tried turning the top clamp around, since I read that some were on backwards. It didn't fix the problem and I couldn't adjust the tilt properly.

Grease the threads of the bolts and make sure there is no grease on the seat rails. The grease should allow you to tighten the clamp bolts more so it won't slide back like that.

I got impatient and emailed VO, here's what I got:
Took a quick look at some of the seatposts on our commuter bike around the shop here they all look about the same - the top & bottom don't quite line up, but they seem to work okay, so you probably don't need to worry.

Any torque specs on those bolts that you're aware of? I'm sure I can snug them down tighter before I sit on the seat, but I don't want to snap a bolt.

The seat under the head end of the bolt has to re adjust itself
depending on the saddle angle chosen.
NB, the lower rail cradle is sitting in a curved bed.
It is something to not worry about. a non issue.
plenty in the world to worry about, to replace that.
