campy mirarge 9 speed levers with shimano drivetrain?

Will this work? I have a ultegra 9 speed front and rear derailuer and ran across a deal on some campy mirage 9 speed levers.

my gut is telling me no.

Not without the appropriate Jtek ShiftMate for about $40 (there are two models for mating Shimano cogs and derailleur to Campagnolo 9 speed shifters through 2000 and from 2001 on).

You can do it even without the Jtek shiftmate. However, I believe you need 10sp levers. I have a Shimano 105 9-speed/triple, and Veloce 10sp shifters. The rear shifts perfectly and so does the front!

Read this article about how to do this without the jtek:

9 speed (pre-2001) Campy + Shimano derailleur in a hubbub route = Shimano 7 speed
