The deal on repairing flats....
I just got a heads up on a worn tire with 3 flats on my commute home. Good practice, I replaced the tire the next day. Interesting though. I patched the punctured tubes and when I used them with the new tire they all leaked again. I spoke to my LBS and they said that the tubes used today are not made out of real rubber and any patch you use to reapir them can only be thought of as a temp fix to get home. WTF? They told me that I could special order some butyl rubber tubes online. Has anyone done this? Just asking.

What sort of patches are you using? Glueless junk falls into the category of get you home. But real glue patches are as good as they ever were. I'd mark this guy as a moron, or trying to sell you stuff. Or both.

were you using latex tubes?
