How often should i lube my road bike chain?
How often should i lube my road bike chain?
I ride on road bike at least 200km a week or more. min,
I was only lubing it when it felt it needed it, such as when i heard an odd chirping in the chain or do it once every 4 weeks.
What is a good lube schedule to follow?

I lube my chain about every 300 miles or 500km. Also if I ride in wet conditions. Use a chain lube NOT WD-40 or Triflow.

I do it every other ride. May be overkill for most, but I live in a place where there is tons of fine sand everywhere. There is no place where sand doesn't get into here. You get a colonoscopy, and I am sure they'll find sand there too. I simply take a rag and run the chain by it. Then, I take some finish line DRY teflon lube and squirt as the chain runs. Finally, take a rag and run it by the chain again to take the excess. Takes < 1 min to do.
