Shimano Tiagra Shifters
Hello,
I have Shimano Tiagra shifters. The right shifter had been working perfectly until I changed the stem. I removed the handlebar and it must have shifted the nipple in the housing. Anyway, I can no longer shift my rear gears (the right shifter). I have had a look and can see no way of getting to the nipple.
Can anyone help out?

Are the shifter's levers frozen? If so, start by disconnecting the rear shift cable at the derailler. See if removing tension from the cable frees up the shifter. Also make sure the housing is seated properly in the shifter.
In order to remove the shift cable from the shifter, you need to shift to the smallest rear cog (press the inner lever until it stops clicking). Then either loosen up your rear brake cable or disconnect it to allow you to squeeze the brake lever and rotate the shifter far enough forward to access the cable head.

No, the levers are not frozen. I hear a clicking sound when I move both levers but the cable does not move.
Any ideas?

This all started after changing your stem? I guess you could have broken your shift cable somehow. Is there any tension on the cable? If you disconnect or loosen your brake cable, you'll be able to rotate the lever far enough forward to where you can see if the mechanism is moving. If you have tension on the cable and the mechansim isn't moving, then you might have a broken shifter.

Using the small black lever, click the shifter to the smallest cog. Then press the brake lever and look inside. The shifter cable head should correctly positioned in a notch. Then as you are looking at it, start using the larger lever and click "up" and see if the cable head turns or spins. As it turns, it's pulling the cable, thus tightening it. This should identify whether or not the shifter is at fault.
