Well, the toxic fluid won't go into the drain as long as I reuse it. It won't cause rusting as well.

The main reason is I don't have the access to water hose or air compressor. Anyways, I will give it a try and see what happens.

I'm curious as to what a water hose or air compressor has to do with it.

Seems like you are all paying a pretty high price for having many more gears than you really need.... I'll keep my 7 gear wheel and open my chain at any link and as much as I want.

Then put my chain in this.

Even when I was running a 7-speed cluster, I used a removable link chain because it's still easier and can be done repeatedly without much risk of detriment.

Water hose to drive the dirty stuffs out. I was using a toothbrush and a small bucket of water and some detergent. Main problem is I can't get those stuffs in between the chains out. Unless I remove the chain, there is no way I can clean it effectively.

Air compressor to blow the water away, as the longer the water stays on the metal, the higher the risk of rusting. Using thinner will cancel that problem.

That's where removable links come into their own.

Nickel plated and corrosion resistant chains such as the SRAM PC69 and higher quality chains work well with just a shake and air-dry. I ran SRAM PC89R (RB), PC99 (MTB), Wippermann Connex 908 (MTB) and Wipperman Connex 911 (RB) and all I ever did to get the water off was shake, lightly run them a couple of times through a towel/rag and then air dry. I've never seen a spot of rust on them. Actually, the only chains I've ever had problems with rusting were the Shimano chains. If you want, you could also take a blow dryer to them.
