Park Tools Mechanic Classes
 

I was looking at the Park tool website and they mentioned they do classes so I looked them up. Anyone ever done these?

i have not done park tool school but it seems like its just basic maintenance and stuff like that. most shops offer 1on1 or 2on1 training that is not park tool branded and you can choose whatever topic you want. classes are usually offered in the winter for my shop. park tool tech summit is more specialized and offers more brand specific stuff.

My LBS offers the Park Tool School. I'd thought about it, but on closer inspection, it just seemed like rudimentary stuff, and more a vehicle for selling tools.
The 1on1/2on1 classes seem like a much better option if you can find something like that locally.

i saw an ad from an lbs for the park school. one day/$75. dunno how involved it gets. what i'd really like to learn is adjusting the
derailleurs. i bought the big blue book of bicycle repair (1st edition) and that section wasn't much help. i discussed it with an lbs guy
and he said adjustments were more art than science. meaning everything isn't precise. wear, stretch, new parts- they all have an effect.
same goes for trunig wheels. i (finally) got to where i can get really close.
there are 2 non-profit lbs (one is actually a co-op) in denver that will guide you, using volunteers and free space/stand/tools to use. sweet.
