Dura Ace 9speed cassette matching a 44t crankset
Hello I'm in the process of replacing my current cassette and crankset and wondering if it'll all match up like I think it will...Going to have a dura ace 9speed (11-23) cassette going to a Middleburn RS7 44t crankset..also buying the dura ace chain as well...anything I should know before buying?...any info will be appreciated...I currently have a low end 38t crankset and just want to upgrade and go a little faster..
thanks!
thanks!

I don't know about going faster, that usually calls for engine modifications. But if it gives you the gearing you want, there's no reason why it shouldn't work

Going faster? Most people run a double, or at least a bigger ring up front. What's the reasoning behind the single ring? I suppose I could get away with a 1x8 around here, there aren't any hills.

It's my city bike out here in Austin..so I'm keeping the gearing quick and simple...it has a 38t now and there isnt a heck of a lot of clearance for a much bigger sprocket..so I'm going to a 44t

44T should be fine. It is a little taller than the middle ring of a standard triple (42T), which I find adequate for general casual riding. You could've just gotten a new chainring without buying a whole new crank.
