is it possible to mix miche and campy cogs in one cassette?
A couple of the cogs in the middle of my campy cassette are getting worn but the rest of the cogs are in great shape. I found a source for individual Miche cogs at a decent price...
...has anyone mixed these cogs in with campy cogs? do they use the same size spacers?

I have both but i have never done that mix basically because campy cogs come in pairs, But i dont see why it should not work, the specs in the spacers and cogs is the same than in any campy cog, so i dont see why you couldn't just take the pair that is getting old and replace it with the miche ones. It will work 100% right? no idea, it should but u never know.

I was thinking that if the cog rotation on the freehub is slightly off from the campy one, it might affect shifting. But I don't have any Mich cassettes to try.

Sorry for the x-post but this is what I want to know. Can I put a Miche 27t or 28t on a Veloce 13-26t and will the teeth line up? Thanks.

I have both but i have not tried it.
Depending on the campy cassete the cogs will be in pairs, The record ones have 3 sets of clusters (if im not wrong), the centaur ones have individual cogs and spacers.
IMO as long as the spacer match it should work, even if its off i doubt will be off too much to even notice it.
To the OP, it depends of your campy cassete, but if you are replacing a pair of cogs that come in cluster (a pair together) you might need to buy a couple of spacers when you get the cogs aswell.

First it depends on the number of cogs (speeds). For a ten speed cassette, Campy cogs are spaced center to center about 4.12mm (however the space between 6 and 7 is .14mm wider). To get this (4.12mm) Campy uses 1.7mm wide cogs with 2.42mm spacers. Miche OTOH uses cogs that are 1.86mm and 2.26mm spacers to achieve the same center to center spacing. So if you want to start mixing Campy and Miche, you will need to account for these differences.

Chorus was the same way where the difference is the 4 large cogs being made of titanium on Record cassettes. There were a few flavors of all-titanium Record cassettes too.
the centaur ones have individual cogs and spacers.
Veloce are all loose and galvanized for 2009 and beyond instead of nickel-chrome plated.
Where the last cog is loose it's a special final position cog with a dimpled center so it's closer to the spokes than the end of the splines would allow a flat cog to be.
Spacers for various cog pairs also vary and consulting the spares manuals would be a fine idea to keep things running silently.
IMO as long as the spacer match it should work, even if its off i doubt will be off too much to even notice it.
