Clicking noise from crank area
Just noticed this for the first time halfway through my ride today. If I'm pedaling hard, the right side of my crank/pedal will make a clicking noise at the same spot through each rotation, just before my right foot hits the bottom of its rotation. The noise is accompanied by a weak jolt (really not the best word to describe this, but I'm tired and can't come up with a better one). Any thoughts?
Thanks |
I had a similar noise, but given the jolt, which I didn't have, I doubt my problem was the same as yours.
My problem was that my shoelace was hitting the crank on every revolution! That was an easy fix  |

Or none of the above... |

I had the same problem. It was my stem. Yep, my stem. When I got to a certain point in the pedal stroke, I was applying pressure to the handlebar in a certain way that made a creak, and I swore that it was a pedal or my crank.
My advice: Loosen, lube & torque to spec every bolt on the bike. It takes less than an hour, and you'll probably fix the problem. |
