hoffman skid mark tire. true max pressure?

anyone familiar with the brand?

i picked up this tire 20" used, as part of a gravity bike project. i got it because it said "premium 120psi" printed on the side, but i just noticed molded into the tire "inflate to 40-65 psi". i was never planning to try to get all the way up to 120psi, but i wanted a good bit more than 65.

which is right? i'm guessing (hoping) maybe they use the same basic carcass for both regular and higher pressure versions of this tire. i only paid a buck for it so i'm not out much, and it looks ok so i guess i can use it on whatever else i can use a regular pressure 20" tire for, but i'm really hoping it's a high pressure tire.

thanks.

According to this site:
https://www.proboardshop.com/qhmsk195...man-bikes.html
List price is $360 on that tire so you got a heck of a deal. And the site is selling it as a 120psi tire.

IMO $360 for any bike tire is flat out ridiculous, but if folks are willing, why not?

Very good automotive tires can be had for much less, although you do have to buy four of them... That's insane.

I have the feeling it's supposed to be 120 TPI not PSI.

TPI is Threads per Inch, a measure of the fabric used in the tire casing.

That's a new record tire price for me. Handily beating out those Hutchinson Pro Tour tires that go for $499 a pair.

https://americancycle.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1930 The ones for sale online now like in my link are a folding bead higher end skidmark that is a 120psi bmx tire, Hoffman also made a tire called the skidmark120 for use as a stock tire on complete hoffman's that only went up to 65psi. Redline, GT, mirraco, specialized... they all do it to make their complete bikes look good when you read the specs.
