Threaded stem height question

Hello

I'm a threaded stem rookie. To accomodate a 58 cm frame that's a tad small, my LBS has placed spacers on top of the headset. Even with the spacers, I'm needing a bit more height. Is it possible to buy a taller threadless stem, comparible to a nitto, for example?

Thanks much.

1. Are you taking about threaded or threadless? Your references aren't consistent.

2. Stems come in all kinds of lengths and angles; you should be able to find an appropriate one.

3. Nitto? It's a brand, not a stem spec. I'm sure there are all kinds of Nitto stems.

4. "Today it's sunny in Phila---we beat the Boys" - WTF?

I'm confused. You used threaded and threadless interchangeably. Do you have a threaded or threadless? Sounds like threadless since the LBS put spacers on top of the headset.

Answering ambiguity with 2 answers..

There are stem raisers that clamp on in place of threadless stems,
onto the fork steerer tube.
and then you relocate the existing stem onto the top of the stem raiser..
+ there are stems with a much greater Up angle, to raise the bars , that way.

Also, to accomplish something like that, there is a steel tube,
reduced in diameter at the bottom, that has its own quill bolt,
for threaded fork types, 1" and 1.125"
then you relocate your existing quill stem into the top of this added tube,
because the whole idea is the ID at the top is the same as the fork, it goes into,
but the OD at the bottom is reduced to fit into the fork.
