XTR 2x Crank
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone can help. I have a Giant trance with internal bearings. I'm running a XTR double in the front. For some reason the chain is snagging on the big ring when I'm pedaling hard in the small. I've adjusted everything perfectly, just can't get it to quit. It's a new crank so I know it's not a bent ring. It's almost like there needs to be a spacer between the BB and crank. Does anyone know if any are made for this type of set up? Again, it's internal bearings, not a external cups. Thanks, |
I am assuming you have Shimano's press fit bottom bracket system. There are spacers available that go between the bb housing and the bearing adaptor to compensate for bb shell width.
Did you change from a triple front to a double? If so you may fd/shifter issues. Probably don't need to mention small ring, small cog crosschaining. |
don't cross chain

I did switch...but also switched to a double fd. I would understand cross chain issues if it also did not do it in other gears. But it does it in about the bottom 4. 12-16.

condition of frame bearings/bushings? pivots tight?

I check the pivots regularly.....I'll have to exam it a bit close r. Can't imagine bearings are bad....bike its only 4mos old...but you never know I guess. Thanks for the pointer. I appreciate the help.
