Heh, should have known somebody would think it was photoshopped (not quite sure what my motive would be for that, but then again this is the internet). My reasoning behind wondering whether missing plates were normal was because on a road bike I had in the past that had 105 on it, some of the cogs on the cassette had missing teeth (I think it was called OpenGlide- to facilitate shifting) so I, rather stupidly, thought that maybe this was something similarly foreign to me.
Anyhow, in regards to the rollers they were just freely shifting back and forth due to the additional space created by the missing plate on those links. Dropped by a bike shop this morning and picked up a KMC Z710SL- seems like a decent chain... at the very least it has all its plates :D |
