New Look cleats won't clip in?

Probably just a dumb question, but I recently installed new Look cleats on my shoes, and I cannot clip-in for the life of me. They're the proper cleats, and I've got Shimano 105 pedals installed, and I've rolled the tension all the way back, but they won't clip.

I haven't had this problem before - is there anything I can do?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Look cleats only work on Look pedals. If you have Shimano pedals, you need Shimano cleats.

The 105 pedals I have use SPD-SL cleats. Look cleats (ARC and Delta) are not compatible.

If you have new shimano pedals you need their cleats. The old ones ('90s) used the Look system.
