Small thread V brake posts?

I recently acquired a Manitou suspoension fork that had been used on a disc brake bike. The previous owner or their mechanic removed the V-brake mounting posts. My bike has V brakes so I am having to reinstall some posts. I am running into a problem though. The threads are WAY smaller than anything we have at the shop. Was this a Manitou only thread size? I am thinking it would easier to drill and retap the holes than to try and find the posts 10+ years after the fact. But, would this leave too little room for the spring pins? Has anyone dealt with this issue successfully?,,,,BD

i have a set that i pulled off a manitou axel fork. the threaded portion is slightly smaller than the smooth stud. looks like a m8 thread. the m8 ones seem harder to source

Do a Google search for M8 cantilever boss. You'll find lots of them for around $7. On Fleabay, you can even find titanium ones for around $15.
