Suntour Accushift Alpha 3000 freewheel compatability?

Will a Suntour (Accushift) Alpha 3000 shifter/rear derailleur combo work with a Suntour Winner STANDARD (not Ultra) 6-speed freewheel? Thanks!

Are those indexed shifters? IIRC the "standard" Suntour freewheels had wider spacing than the "Ultra." I would not expect it to index correctly. Have all the parts on hand? Try it and see.

Yes, the standard non-Ultra Winner 6-speed freewheels have a wider spacing (for late-1970s early 1980s 126mm spaced dropouts), but as with most Suntour freewheels the larger lower gear cogs are spaced (slightly) closer together than the smaller higher gear ones. Supposedly Accushift Alpha 3000 works well with contemporary SunRace and older Suntour freewheels, but I don't know if that's old-school standard spacing or narrow/Ultra.

Now that I think of it, I once tried indexing a 1985 Suntour Perfect 6-speed freewheel. It wouldn't work because some of the cogs were spaced differently than the others. I wouldn't expect your freewheel to index.

Sheldon has a guide for cassette/freewheel spacing if that helps at all: https://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_sp-ss.html#spacingk7
