SRAM Apex BB compatibility on Specialized Roubaix Pro?
Hi
I'm looking to purchase a Specialized Roubaix Pro frame and install the SRAM Apex group. Can anyone advise if the SRAM Apex BB (GXP) is compatible out of the box or do I need an adapter of some sort? |
And before anyone flames me, I don't need the higher-end components, just a stiff frame. :)

From Specialized website "The Roubaix Pro features a proprietary FACT carbon crank and bottom bracket system that, because it was designed as an integrated part of the Roubaix chassis, cuts weight (an amazing 148 grams) while boosting pedaling efficiency." So it sounds like the GXP (which is for threaded BB's) will not work.
BTW: I just bought an SRAM Apex kit for my Trek OCLV 110. I don't need high-end components either :) |
Thanks, and I'm glad I'm not alone with the non-high-end components. :)

Not at all. The mid-range of components generally outsell the top end stuff by quite a margin.
