New Tyre Oder
Anyone know of a safe and effective way of removing it? Several had mentioned simply washing with detergent or soaking in vinegar for several minutes then laying them out in the sun for a few hours. Any ideas? (bike stored indoors)

Riding on them outdoors makes the new smell subside. I would not wash away any of the surface residue as it might cause the tire to dry and crack sooner.

Just enjoy it. It'll be gone soon enough.

Stop sleeping with your bike, and it won't bother you.:p

Install your inner tube with Scented Talc.. Baby Powder ..

You'd evidently be amazed at how many LIKE to go into the garage and be hit with the new-tire aroma.

The smell comes from the rubber outgassing the volatile compounds. If it really bothers you, wash the tires then leave them in the sun for a couple hours. Then go ride your bike- it's a bike, not a rose bush. |
did you ever notice when you buy new tires for a car they smell? Same thing for bikes. it'll pass

What do you do when you get a new shower curtain? Much more surface area there.
