Disc Brake Identificatation and Parts
Hey,
So just wanted to see if you could help me identify the disk brake I have. It's on an old Free Spirit Sears bike. It's Shimano and it has some inscription saying SE-DISC but I'm not sure what model is it. Here some photos:

Ultimately I'd like to replace the pads, i've been told by the bike shop that they're pretty much gone. I found a link on amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-Disc-B.../dp/B001AQP7BK
Also there's this guide from Shimano but I also can't find a model staring with "SE" - https://www.shimano.com/publish/conte...ake%20Pads.pdf
So hope you can help, thanks!
J.

afaik
shimano made disk brakes back int he 70s or so
and they did not last very long
and parts havent been made for them since soon after their introduction
i am guessing they look like the brakes in this thread

Remove the old pads and compare its shape to the ones you linked.
If they don't match, maybe they'll match one of these: https://www.koolstop.com/english/disc_pads.html
Here's a chart from Shimano. Your model isn't listed but maybe the same pad shape is still used: https://www.shimano.com/publish/conte...ake%20Pads.pdf

They Orphaned that stuff, long ago, since there is no fittings for any contemporary discs,
I recommend Drum Brake Hubs.. in rebuilt wheels .
might find someone selling S-A steel shell Hubs , they would cost less than the Aluminum ones
with a steel drum in them ..

Thank you for the replies. I guess that then there isn't anyway to find out except if i take it apart and see what they really look like and try to find a similar shape/form in the Shimano catalog. I'm not that crafty with fixing these mechanical things myself and am not sure if it's worth it but i guess i'll talk to local shops and see if they'd help...
tnx
