Home make tubeless tires?
My neighbor claims he used to paint the inside of his bike
tires with latex paint with a couple drops of turpentine, to
prevent drying, and paint the inside of the rims with the
same thing and install a tubeless valve stem. The brass
ones meant for tank installation. He said he would pull
nails out and they never leaked. He claims he could wear
the tires down to the cord.
BTW, he is a good neighbor but:
He has been abducted by aliens several times.
He has located King Solomons mines in NW Arkansas
but doesn't want to pay all the taxes on the treasures.
And they might have a curse.
He commuted on his bike seventy miles each way for
several years and averaged sixty MPH in all kinds of
weather.
He owned the first Mustang off the assemble line
and later sold it for a million dollars but the check
bounced and he never found the guy that bought
the car.
He has never been married and lives with his mother.
He is about sixty years old.
People mess with his stuff, peak in the windows, steal
his gas and throw things on the roof every night.
We have lived in the house next door for twelve years,
we have never had anything touched, we seldom lock
the house. The neighbor is watching every thing all the
time.
He once called 911 when he saw someone in our house
when he knew we were gone. It was a oscillating pedestal fan
moving the drapes and casting a shadow in the drapes.
Any way, what do you think about the painted tire thing?
I might give it a try on an old Wally bike sometime.

The thing is, he is a good neighbor, always there when you need a hand, keeps
an eye on things, Always a nice word for everyone. Takes good care of the front
yard, not so much in the back, lots of junk but fenced so we don't have to see it.

I knew this would get way off topic, so anyone got any other real weird bike
repair ideas??
This is true, when I was a kid, long ago, we put milk in our tires to seal them.
You really didn't want a blow out! But it did seal small leaks.
BTW, I married an alien. She is out of this world.

I want to know what kind of bike he rides. I sure hope it's not a recumbent.

As long as we are on the subject of weird riders, for several years in the late '80's I would see a guy riding TOSRV (Tour of the Scioto River Valley, an annual Mother's Day weekend back-to-back century rides from Columbus Ohio to Portsmouth, Ohio and back) on a WWII vintage olive drab Army issue Schwinn single speed wearing jeans, a flannel shirt and combat boots. AFAIK, he completed it every year.

We have been ridding together a few times, once he stopped at a EZmart and got a dozen
sausage biscuits and ate half of them before we took off again. He carries a gallon
milk jug of water in a back back when we ride. He runs beside the bike and leaps on
after we stop at a light or sign.
He is very entertaining.

He has a Huffy MTB and an old Schwinn roadie with the drops on top.

I wonder if he is related to my brother's neighbor. He says he was a messenger in Kansas in his younger days, and regularly hit 65 MPH on his fixie!

See if you can make a video of him making the sealed rim, to post for other BikeForums members.
You can tell him honestly, we want too see it.
