problem with my hurricane team floor pump

This thing is driving me nuts. I put it on the valve and if you pump it it seems like NO air is going into the tire but you can hardly pump it ???

Presta valves? Did you unthread the valve stem nut and "burp" it to be sure the valve is free?

Ok I burped it and it still isnt right. I think the oring is bad or something because if it moves a little air come out around it. Also when you first lock it on the gage doesnt register until you pump it. Something just doesnt feel right

I hope I didn't insult you but it's quite often we get a poster new to presta valves who isn't aware of the stem nut.
