25mm nipple needed

After a recent accident, I need to rebuilding my deep 'V' (Dodici rims) with Gipiemme hubs (32H) that came with 182mm x 2.0 14g spokes and 25mm long alloy nipples. I have since purchased DT swiss 182mm x 2.0 spokes but they came with standard 12mm nipples that do not protrude out of the rim. Is this a problem, what are my options?

From what i understand here is what i need to do:
1) longer spokes to reach the 12mm nipples
2) get new 25mm nipples (though i dont know anyone that supplies this)
3) reuse the old nipples somehow
4)internal nipples? auto lock?
5)would 18mm external nipples work?

Any information would be great!

I'm pretty sure what you want are 20mm nipples...in brass...silver and black.

Understand though that when using 16mm or 20mm nipples with spokes from a box with the typical 9.0mm to 9.5mm worth of thread, the spokes are cut very short and typically fall very short of the screwdriver flat. In other words, eventually the nipple barrels will separate from the nipple heads.

Folks with spoke machines, Phil Wood (older models) and the Kowa can provide 12mm and 13mm worth of threads so that you can treat the 20mm nipples as you would 10mm nipples on short threads.

You really should give it some thought...

Dodici 40.5mm DeepV rim ERD = 559 when aiming for the flat of a 12mm standard profile nipple.

So what crossing are you using? Radial?

Yes, using the Dodici rims. They were originally holding the nipple in the second wall instead of first wall inner most all. I'd like to maintain this, and am relacing with washers as was priviously done as well.
