installing AVID BB7 on my Marin Muirwoods 29er *figured it out!

I am trying to direct replacement to the Hayes' MX-4's or whatever are on here, and they don't see to fit very well...like they're off just slightly. There is about a half inch of room where the rotor doesn't hit pad, and the caliper is a bit too far out (quarter inch, maybe less)?

Is there something I need to purchase to make these guys fit on here?

figured it out :

okay, glad I took pictures ... figured it out!

I had the front on the rear, and the rear on the front, fits solidly now .

Did you replace the rotors as well as the calipers? Some rotors can be interchanged between brands, but not all. Perhaps the brake track on your rotors are not wide enough.

What Dan said. It sounds like it's not that your calipers are too far out but that the rotors are not large enough diameter to reach them.

Yup, I have new rotors that the kit came with ... what do you mean CPS washers?

the originals were 160mm, and the new one is 160mm.

okay, I think I might need a new bracket? I couldn't use my old one since the caliper mounted differently, how do I know which bracket this bike needs?

I took some pictures so you could see :

https://vivithemage.com/zen/vivi/BB7/

the CPS bolts are pretty loose, the wheel will spin, but there is some resistance, even loosening up the brake pads...you can see how off the caliper is from the rotor.
