Early 80's Sears Free Spirit 12

I am a new home bike mechanic and to practice some skills i took my dads old Free Spirit road bike. Kept in the basement all these years it's has little rust, still shifts, and seems to be in good shape. I"ve started to take some of the bolts apart and see that some regreasing is in much need. Before i get too crazy with this thing though does anyone know where i can find a schematic for an old bike like this to let me know if i tear something apart wrong i don't want to tear into it and not remember how things go back. I took the class with my 2009 giant defy alliance which has all sealed barrings and as you well know some of the things are different. Let me know please! thanks

If you can find the drawings, etc, that's great. But an alternative is to take pictures and make good notes/sketches as you take things apart, so you know how they were. It also forces you to notice, which helps you remember.

Taking some clear, well-lit photos with a digital camera as you go along might help immensely.

Alright that sounds like a plan. I will do that i just have one more question, like i said this bike is old. If there is something that doesn't seem to be coming apart and i think it should... just keep going at it? I am not out anything if i screw this thing up that's why i got it. That is sort of part of the reason the drawing would be nice i would know better, possibly what is supposed to come apart although it is still a bike and i think i can figure it out. It also has friction shifters on the head tube the brand is Falcon?? Any hints on where i can find info on that?
