Need 1" threadless steel or fork suggestions

I am doing a 650B conversion on my rodriguez. It has a 1" threadless carbon fork without any brand name on it. a 650B x 38mm tire barely rubs the sides so I need something that has wide blades. I prefer to go carbon, but steel is fine. I would just have to get the steel fork painted and right now I'm not looking to drop a ton of money. Can someone suggest a fork with wide blades for this?

Has anyone used the Nashbar fork for this purpose?

I've had a couple people recommend a Winwood (too expensive) and EC30 (not made anymore). Got any more?

If someone has one they don't need, speak up!

Go back to the source, contact R&E about building the new fork.

Of course that is the sensible first option, but the bike budget isn't very big right now. I have everything except for the fork and other projects have taken precedence. Good looking out though.

Tires are a lot cheaper and easier than forks, you sure this is worth giving up your existing fork? Don't shoot, just asking.

650b is pretty close to a 26" MTB sized, right? Have you looked at mountain bike forks? What kind of brakes do you run?

Well the frame is built around 700C, so I am really looking to keep the original geometry (independent of geo change from the conversion). I am using long reach caliper brakes. It doesn't make sense to me to change to 650B without going to fairly large tires as if I were going to do ~32mm, I could have just gone with another bike with 700C. I thought that while I was at it, I could get a carbon fork painted, but now I am starting to think that it's not worth it... I could just run a smaller tire in front and a larger in back, but mismatched tires bug me.

A friend of mine recently suggest getting a trek sport touring fork from an old huge frame, chop the threads off, and run threadless. Starting to look that way...
