removing stripped crank arm.
I broke the non drive side pedal off my Cignal Mountain bike. I bought the park tool crank puller to get it off to be replaced. I got the actual crank, but the non drive sides' threads are stripped out so the tool can't grip it. I'm wondering how I can get the broken pedal arm off without damaging the bottom bracket. Is it possible?
Thanks
Thanks

It is. I had the same situation yesterday and the shop tapped new threads and screwed in a new sleeve that contains a crank self-removal mechanism. It was a $40 cost and I'm considering it an upgrade to my crankarm. Sorry, I don't know the name of the product.

The non-drive side can be removed with a regular 2-arm puller, like this: https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-5681-3-...5593175&sr=1-2
You might need to fiddle around a bit to create a surface for the puller tip to push against. Some have reported using a stack of small coings with good success.
A tie rod puller can work too, https://www.amazon.com/OEM-25201-Tie-...5593363&sr=1-5 but will dent the BB face.

A pair of "chuck wedges" should work without damaging the BB. https://www.jacobschuck.com/product_details.asp?pid=29 A local machine shop or old-time bike shop might have them.

I believe that is a Stein crank tap. it is designed to tap the crank and put a oversized 24mm thread One Key Release or self extractor in the crank. It is a very cool but pricey tool I would love to add to my collection.
Are the cranks on that Cignal steel? I assume the main plan is to simply replace them?

I think it was steel. I got lucky that it was the non drive side. Update, I managed to get it off with the help of an automotive gear puller.
yes, the plan of attack is to replace. my friend broke his bottom bracket on his target special Magna dual suspension. I'm gonna give him the Cignal, if we can manage to get the cheap crank off his magna without stripping it as well.
Edit: Thanks Dabac for the idea. happened to have one just lieing around
