1) clamp on FD/seat tube size 2) rear wheel

2006 bianchi volpe
I've had the same stock components (tiagra) since I bought the bike new
a friend gave me his used dura ace 7700 set

1) the DA FD has a 31.8 mm diam
it's loose on the seat tube
any recs for the best way to shim it, or do I need a different one
I guess I can still use my old FD
the new set is a double chain ring ( i think its 39/53?)
switching from a triple
should double and old FD work, or so they all have to "match"?

2) put the new cassette on and the spacing on the axle looks wrong
i can't see how the axle should advance in and out of the hub
is it "fixed", or is there a way to adjust it that I'm not seeing

thanks all

The FD might not work with triple, with shimano u never know certainly, you have to google the model and see the characteristics.

The axle part... dont understand what are u talking about. You put a dura ace cassette in that wheel and now you cant see the axle tip???

Anybody knows if a 7700 cassette will fit in a 9 speed tiagra wheelset??
